Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

They just left Meyer today and it says the 'shipment has been accepted' in Ohio from the hatchery. I went to the PO and they have my name and #. I know they will call when they get here, but THURSDAY? How is that 2 day priority if it left today and it says expected delivery Thursday?
That's 4 days!

I bet you will be surprised and find it arrives Wed! I've heard of shipments making to to Alaska by Wed. And don't get worried (even though we all did) when there's no update on the PO website. It will say it's in Ohio until you get the call they are down the street

PO tracking is dreadful.

Until then, we'll keep your mind occupied with chicken talk... how many did you order and what breeds?

I have Speckled Sussex (Jordan), Buff Orpington (Goldie), Lavender Orpington (Beatrice), and Blue Orpington (Roseanne)! They are all so sweet and booming with personality.

That's awesome!! lol... I'm looking for the perfect sized cardboard box to use as mine. I'm a disgrace to the chicken world.

Again.... fantastic!!! I don't think they make a cardboard box big enough for all those chicks

My first brooder was a portable dog pen with a cardboard ring for draft protection. If I could have kept the chicks in it until they were ready to go out to the coop, that would have been fine with me. Unfortunately, there are too many to keep in that small space and I needed to move them out to the garage. My husband is a materials horder, so, we had almost everything we needed to build the new brooder. We spent about $20 on the whole project because we only had to buy a couple of hinges and 2x2s for the removable top. If I had to buy all the materials, I would have been trolling appliance stores looking for a refrigerator-sized cardboard box!!!

This is Snowball. A bantam white frizzle cochin. She's not from Meyer but we're keeping her so I had to take a pic


EE and white cochins. The EE is a week older and not from Meyer.

This is the other bantam EE from Meyer. I think this is a roo. In the background is the buff laced polish and partridge cochin.

Unless you are in a really remote area, I bet you'll get the chicks on Wednesday, too. Great assortment!!! I got a meal maker and they have me an extra Barred Rock, which I had already ordered 2. I hope they all arrive safely!

Meal makers can be fun because they'll keep you guessing for a while. Mine turned out to be a production red. I went back and forth for a while with which red bird she was. Can't wait for your pictures!!
