Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

I asked my postal carrier when he delivered the ail. He gave me his supervisors #.
I called. They are on the lookout, but they have NOT arrived in the Worcester county main post office yet.

... poor babies.

Oh gosh...I hope you get them soon and they are healthy!

Still nothing. I checked my call logs and on my last order (March 17th ship date) I got a call on Tuesday the 18th at 11:13.
Wow. I got my chicks at almost the same time, same day! I am sure you will get there this afternoon and they will be fine. Good luck!

Oh noes! Sorry to hear about the sore hens and late chicks, fingers crossed for both of you. In feeling really blessed that we live only an hour away. I added bedding to our brooder today plus a few other diversions, check it out:

That's awful! You should have had them yesterday. You would think that peeping chicks would make someone investigate where they belong! I hope you find them soon!!

Awww, I'm so sorry. I know how worried you must be.

OK, I have another chicken issue

My Cuckoo Marans has a prolapse. Anyone ever dealt with this. She didn't have it yesterday because I checked them all out thoroughly when I dusted them. She was bending over eating and it looked like hardened poo on her vent and the feathers underneath were a mess (almost like a mild form of vent gleet but no bad smell to it)
I cleaned her up, trimmed her feathers and I could see a bit of her skin hanging out of the vent and now it's oozing a bit. I've read to put honey on it so when she goes to bed I'm going to go out and do that. Otherwise she's active and eating and laid an egg which i know is kinda bad.
If it looks bad in the a.m I will bring her in and then figure out what to do.
Anyone else deal with this??
OMG, this is to much at one time. And it doesn't really seem related to each other. All different issues.
I can try to take a pic tomorrow and post. Who knew chickens were so hard??

I have had a few sex-link hens have that happen, unfortunately they are just going to keep pushing so the prolapse needs to be repositioned inside the vent and sown shut so that it can heal. Unfortunately, I am not capable of that extent of surgery myself so I chose to put the hens down. I'm very sorry, Nancy.

edit:
I looked online really quick and found a website that says a prolapse "might" retract itself if the hen is cleaned with antibacterial wash and isolated to a dark non-stress environment.

I guess that is worth a shot depending on how bad the prolapse is.

Thank you for your input and so fast!!
I've read where they can be fist sized and this is maybe as wide as my thumb. I'll try the cleaning, honey and isolation and see what happens. Right now she seems fine and none are picking on her which is always good. I understand this is just something that happens sometimes but for all this at once is odd.

Have they gone through a molt yet? Maybe it is just a combo of molting and feather picking?. Other girls might pick on the ones that are losing feathers from a molt. Since you don't see bugs, there may not be any. Have you checked for them at night as well? I heard that's when they are worse.

I looked up the Nu Stock info, here it is

  • ingredients: sulfur, pine and mineral oil.
  • For Mange on dogs-also cuts & skinned places
  • Treatment of ear mites
  • Cures red mange
  • Heals any type of wound, bite or laceration
  • For cuts, bruises, burns, swelling, soreness, loss of hair, tender hooves, proud flesh, scratches, rain rot, mud poisoning, dew poisoning
Sorry I forgot to answer this..
Molt crossed my mind but they are still laying and no big feathers around the run. I did check at night, about 5 of them and didn't see anything. I ordered the Nu Stock from Amazon and should be here tomorrow.
Funny, as soon as I put the pick no more on her head yesterday the mean RIR can running over to peck at her head and did it once and ran off. Guess it tastes bad to them. I actually smells really yummy to me. Very strong grape flavor. I watch them on the camera when they are going into the coop and I don't see anything going on besides the usual light picking when going to roost.
