One of the frizzles has just gone broody, so I'm going to get her a few fertile eggs and see if she'll hatch/raise them.

I really like the lav orp I got. She's huge! And the wellies are great. Beautiful birds, sweet, and the eggs are really cute too!
Do you have pics of your Lavender Orp??? I'd love to see her. And the Welsummers.
I love the redder coloring of Summer. I know that was originally a disappointment for you that she looked to similar to your Partridge Rock and that her eggs weren't particularly dark or speckled but I think she looks lovely. For me who was torn between getting a Welsummer and a RIR, she would be perfect. Your Lav Orp is gorgeous too! Also I know I've said it before but I just adore the names you all have chosen for your Welsummers. Mable, Nutmeg, Saffron, Summer, Pumpkin... am I missing any? Does someone have a Hazel? I'm still leaning toward Cornelia for mine, perhaps Cora for short. kkwinwy have you thought of any names? The snow is supposed to start here in 1 1/2 hours. I got the animals all fed up and the horses groomed. Dang horses rolled in the snow the other day and caked their hair down. That won't provide good insulation! I made my daughter go out and groom them. Here are some pics of my Wellie (Summer) Summer and BR
