Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Thank you. :)

I got a first egg from one of the Lav Ams yesterday, but it WASN'T BLUE!!  I've been very excited that they were getting close to laying, but seeing the tiny pale cream egg was exciting and disappointing at the same time.:(  (The breeder did call to tell me he was getting some incorrect egg color, and that if it happened to one of my chicks he would replace it.  But idk, I'm kind of attached to them.)

Yes, there are two Narragansett turkey poults in with my Meyer chicks.  The size difference doesn't seem to matter.  What's really cute is when the larger turkey and Blossom sleep side by side on a perch. :)

They are beautiful birds, all of them, but I love those lavender ams. My first ameraucana egg was greenish but the second was blue. Hopefully one of the others will deliver.

Monday is my chicks' picture day too...last week, I did the Jinorra (CL) and Mai (BCM). The last Meyer's chick is Toph (bantam EE) and she has really changed this past week. Here she is on the day she arrived:

One week:

two weeks (next to a LF EE from the feedstore, sourced by IDEAL)

3 weeks (first day outside)

4 weeks

5 weeks

6 weeks

and 7 weeks (yesterday). She's getting a white collar that is a surprise.

It's Meyer Chick Birthday Monday again!

And this week, I actually have my photos ready before midnight.

I will keep it to a minimum this time, since they are going through their awkward stage, and not very photogenic. But what's not to love about pin feathers and patches of missing down?

Aggie and Peppermint, Blue Splash Marans, 6 weeks old:

Gloria, Appenzeller Spitzhauben, not from Meyer, 40 days old:

Elizabeth, RIR, 5 weeks old:

Now isn't that a face only a mother could love?

Here are Corabeth, Olive Egger, and Blossom, BLRW, 5 weeks old:

And Blossom again, starting to look more like the others, although she is still quite a bit smaller.
I loved it when they were fluffy puffs of down and I love it now that they look like scraggly teenagers. It amazes me how their personalities change with the feathers, too!

Aww Toph! She's a cutie and I love the white/silver she's getting. It will be really interesting to see how she turns out!

I went and looked at the possibilities at Meyer, and I'm guessing my Meal Maker is a White Rock or White Leghorn. What do you think??
