Hey Henry, thanks for posting the pics! Colorwise, your pretty girl is much closer to the breed standard than mine is (McMurray Hatchery). Mine has much more blue/black splashing, which makes her not a true salmon (more of a blue/black mahogany or something) ~ but she is pretty true to type in shape, with a nice deep keel and beautiful muff and feet feathering.

Remember though, the breed standard specifically states that TYPE is more important than COLOR, both in the breeding pen and in the show ring. I do not think judges are allowed to disqualify for color, but I am sure that comes into consideration somehow. If there are judges lurking around this thread, I hope they will comment on this.

You are welcome to check out my pet quality Faverolles girl for comparison ~ here she is with her buddy, a little black bantam cochin.

They are sweet! I would love to have a whole flock of these darlings.

Ed. to correct hatchery name ~

She is very pretty. I like her color, and she surely has heavy foot feathering. I've been looking at pics, and haven't seen that much foot feathering in many Faverolles. If so, more the roos than the hens. I wouldn't mind a whole flock of those myself. Very pretty.

She is beautiful I don't know anything about the color standard but they are very different she does seem to have the type down my hen has actually filled out since those pictures were taken she is a big girl.

I thought so too, but she surely is pretty with that heavy foot feathering. The only thing that I don't like about the Faverolles is that the foot feathering is too sparse, so I guess that's why I think she is so pretty.:)Paula
