This here was sold by Meyer as a Jersey Giant and then to me for $10. He is 8 lbs. And my best guess he is part Australorp and I know for a fact he is part Ameraucana. He is my mixed breed cock bird's daddy.
The Meyer version of a Jersey Giant
When taken to my purebred Exhibition Buff Orpington from Doug.
They made BUSTOFF
He is 11 lbs and was not suppose to be a mix. I was told when I got these Buffs to double check fertility before I bought a Buff orp cockerel. I used the Meyer Hatchery male. And when I got the Buff cockerel, he mounted but missed and when I incubated the eggs this fella is one of the 5 that hatched that I kept.
Because of the screwed up breeding of the Black cock bird I used initially I have made some very interesting birds that can and will be used in future projects\\
Here are a few who came about by this messed up breeding of my purebred Buff/Meyer Hatchery cock bird mating.
Enjoy as this opened up a can of worms of really weird and at the same time cool looking birds.
Lemon Blue Ameraucana
Black Brown Red
Lemon Blue Orp project
Salmon Breasted Silver Duckwing

Black Birchen
Blue Birchen
You can get the idea of what MAYBE hidden in a hatchery bird. And in no way I would trade my BUSTOFF for any other bird. It is alot of fun in what he has put into my breeding program. Without BUSTOFF Crele, and all these other varieties would not be available to me. And NO WAY would I buy anything to make them. BUT since he is here, I let BUS decide what is the next fun thing to raise. Anyone like some Lemon Blues or Black Brown Reds or Birchens? Just ask and the BUS will deliver. lolol
