Meyer lakeshore Egger rooster?

Pullet. She is will be laying soon.

I can’t figure it out. It’s 90 degrees outside and she has been in the coop all day. Perched on ladders and on nest boxes just crowing away. I tried to get her to go outdoors but she refused. Did not free range at all today.

Pullet. The crest is a telltale sign with cream legbars, but I have no clue what lakeshore eggers are, so I might be wrong, but I don’t see any male feathering and the comb and waddles are small.

Can you explain to me more about male versus female feathering patterns? I have heard that a number of times and i don’t know much about it. New to chickens so looking to learn!

Males typically have ‘pointier’ feathers, especially in the tail, neck and saddle (back)

She’s hot. She doesn’t want to be out in the sun. Give her time.

And i get that she’s hot but the coop is easily 5 degrees hotter and there are nice shady spots all over the yard. I just worry about her being cooped up all day!

For the cream legbars, (and lakeshore eggers) the females have a crest and no barring, white the males are barred without a crest.

maybe you could put down a shallow pan of water for her to stand in. Cool feet = cooler bird.
