MG soil survival

Hey everyone!

My question is simple, how long does MG survive on the soil where infected chickens used to be?

MG or mycoplasma gallisepticum only lasts in the environment for about 3 days. It may live a bit longer in frozen droppings. Usually with removal of the infected birds, cleaning the equipment, and waiting a few weeks, it is safe to start over with new healthy chicks. Here is a good article with some info:

Do you by chance know how long MS and ILTV last in the soil?
MG/MS lasts in the environment for 3 days. Here's a good link:

As far as ILT goes, it is a fragile virus in the environment. However it is still infectious in feces, feathers etc.
