Michigan Chickenstock 2011

Mcbeers, I have several pvc feeders that after much trial and error finally work great. I used 3" PVC 1- 36", 1- 8", 1- cap 1- 90 el, 1-3" inspection cap. I marked the center line of the 8" pipe and drilled 2- 1 1/2 dia holes so that the edge of holes are 1" from ends of pipe. Cut out the material between holes. Install inspection cap and elbow making sure to align el with centerline. Install 36" pipe sand the top of pipe to reduce diameter so that cap will come off easily.

Thanks Opa. I might have to look at that a little more. If you happen to have any pictures with one of them in it, I would really appreciate seeing one.

I am just 6 miles below (south) the bottom edge of Saginaw Bay. How much needs to be transported? I don't have a trailer or anything. I'm only going in a van and am taking one medium sized cage for possible purchases and one small cage, plus some stuff to drop off at step-Moms house on the way home.

I forgot, I am taking a bunch of potted plants too, so MAYBE half the van will be empty, depends on what I need to deliver for you. Perhaps I could take half and someone else could take another half or something, let me know.
Tomorrow Im going kayaking so hafta empty the van of everything. when thats done I can put stuff in and take a photo of how much room I'll have left. I can put the small cage into the big one to save room.
Ok, hope I can help.

I edited my original post with what I need transported. A small/medium carrier will do just fine...so not much room is needed.

Thank you so much, chickwannab, for your kind offer. What route will you be taking to/from chickenstock? After mapquesting your location, I'm not sure how/where we could meet if things worked out to do so.

How about in Auburn Michigan? It's on the other side of Bay City from me.
Who do I need to get the birds to? Want to give them my cell phone number so once I'm there I can be called or something. 1-989-280-7746.
Could you bring them to Auburn maybe the day before Chickenstock? Is that too far away from you? I could put them in the polebarn and feed them and water them in the morning before I go. For that matter, I have a size larger cage I could take (2'x2'x4'), could put some of them in it, or in my smaller one (2'x2'x2')
Call me if you want to, my home phone number is 989-659-2288, my real name is Bunni (bunny) we can set something up.

I don't know what I was thinking, you're on the OTHER side of me. I looked at the map wrong. Pick a spot, I could pick them up from you in Clio, Millington, Vasser....

Let me "work" on this a little bit, chickwannab. There's someone else as well that has offered assistance, so I need to look into who's closer so I'm not inconveniencing anyone too much. If I meet up with you, it will most likely need to be in Millington. I'm headed out to do chores now and won't be back online until after 10 tonight. I'll be in touch, though. Thank you SO VERY MUCH.

PRETTY HAPPY, I've found one other nearby source who raises Chanteclers. So if I don't find what I want at Chickenstock, AND /OR in Birch Run at Blehm Farms, I now have Shelley out in the thumb who raises em too!
I also have made up a drawing for another chicken tractor, will be lots nicer than the goofy, hoaky one I first made, which is a laugh!!!

I looked over my map better. It wouldn't be a problem for me at all. ANd I found your updated post, three small chickens going, three coming back, no big deal.
I can go down M-15 to Millington, meet you, and head onto Chickenstock from there, taking 15 to 69.

I'll be getting my grand-daughter friday night before so she's staying the night and going with me from my place. She's excited. A day out with Gramma, now thats a road trip!!
