Michigan Chickenstock 2013 Buy/Sell/Trade

Quote: that's always frustrating, madning and sickening. Sorry for your loss. I had it this summer too, a neighbors Husky, which has been back at least 4 different times and I couldn't get the shot. I will tho.
It looks like I have at least 6 purebred Chantecler babies. 3 are Dominique cross. I would sell them cheap if we could meet half way. I paid $10 per egg when I got mine, but I'd part with the chicks for about $4 each. Busy thru Sunday, but after that I may be able to make a trip. I'm helping someone move.

I remember responding to your post about the Husky and said "I hope that never happens to me". It did and it is hard to deal with, lots worse than I could ever imagine. I am a dog lover too and these two were very happy, goofy dogs. For all I know, they didn't MEAN to kill her? oh well...if we had gotten out there before they saw the birds, we may have prevented it. We may have prevented them from killing them all since we got out there fast. I don't let the chickens free range unless I am home too, which is probably a good idea. I will talk to DH about these babies and see what he says. Jake is also giving away his Delaware's, but he is a good drive away from here.

when will the chicks be hatching? I hope all went well with the move. Right now thinking about getting an older pullet and DH may consider me to get babies for a separate flock of Chanteclers. Are they white chanteclers? Not sure if you mentioned that...

You may want to post this on the "Michigan Thread - all are welcome" thread, too.

Not sure how often people check this thread since Chickenstock was back in June :)

I still have baby Chantecler, the white Canadian ones, they are 12 days old now. $5 each and all pullets!! I'll be taking them up to Chickenstock Up North to sell if nobody wants them before then.
