Michigan Chickenstock 2013 - planning ahead!

Found this thread the other night. Could someone please explain to me how this works? Is it open to the public? If I attend do i have to get a booth and bring a dish to pass? I am new to this and would like to attend, but would like to just browse for now. If i don't get a booth and decide to bring a dish to help out is that ok?
This is a big ole family-reunion like event. If you want to eat some really wonderful food, you are asked to bring a dish as well. If you don't want to eat, then you don't have to bring anything.

The "booths" are merely areas where some people set up to sell or trade poultry. Or hatching eggs. Or plants. Or artwork. Or rabbits. Or whatever you like. I think you get the idea.

Come out and join us. Check the food sign up thread for who is bring what to share. It is in my signature.

Thanks. I will be checking it all out.

Last year there were tons of great items, both poultry and non-poultry related.

We had honey, goat milk soap, jellies and preserves, hand sewn items, books, wine, plants, arts and crafts, live chicks, hatching eggs and lots more than I can think of right now.

There were also arrangements made for specific item swaps or sales. Several brooder boxes were there.

We really should get a swap page started. Who wants to volunteer?

Awesome thread, wish I had seen it earlier.
I would like to be on the clean up and will help set up, I can bring some white plastic tables if we need for food ect. I have 2 folding ones so no matter which vehicle I take it will not be a problem

I also think we should take up a collection for rent and meat.

How many people usually attend? Its a bit of a drive for me, but sounds fun. Maybe I could get some chicken friends from my area to share a ride.

I'm looking foreward to attending again this year; last year was my first time. Fun!!! Will Randy's Roosters be there again? His blue Marans are nice, laying really dark eggs. Chocolate cake again? Mary
