Wow! I was thinking of merging my two groups, one a week old, one 5 weeks old (haha had to check the receipt, I think I was saying they are 6 weeks old), but I think there is too much size difference yet.I finally got my 6 wk old chicks integrated with my 2 wk old chicks... i been working on it the last 5 days.. slowly.. I made a big brooder box to put in shop and when i put my older chicks in, they were kinda freaked out. so i thought it was the perfect time to leave the 2 wk old chicks in, let them both be freaked out together.. its been 24 hrs and they are finally all laying with each other.. and behaving.. so now i have the little brooder for the new chicks that should hatch this week.. and plan on getting the older chicks outside in a month or so.. as soon as it warms and everything melts around the coop i want to put them in..
Thanks! I'll need to merge them all sooner than later - I plan on setting my 'bator again next week !@ jackie, yes i will get some pictures posted later.. i waited till my little ones were close to 2 wks old.. it was gradual..but the last 48 hrs they were put together permenent.. i had a spot so the chicks could hide and get away if needed in brooder. one thing about chickens is the integrating part and pecking order.. but once they are all together its sure is a relief
what breed is the chipmunk one in the middle?
