Pics
I only dry hatch anymore, works great for me. i do same as glad does..

My chicks are sold, people are coming to get them today.. the guy that gave me the goose and turkey eggs is collecting a few more so when we get those, will set the eggs

how is all the hatching going..

We are all done. Out of 10 eggs, 9 hatched. 1 pipped and zipped, but never made it out alive :( I feel sad about that one, but overall very pleased with our 9 out of 10 rate! Not bad for first timers and with a homemade incubator to boot! I'll post pics later.

Gratz!! Yes please, pics of chicks and incubator!

Worked on the coops all day today so I was finally able to separate out my BCM breeders and my Buff Orpington breeders. Now I just need to rebuild my didn't-make-it-through-the-70mph-windstorm hoop coop so I can separate out my Speckled Sussex. :barnie I'm exhausted just thinking about it.

Oh and all 10 of the florida Muscovy eggs seem to be in great shape, they are on day 19. Oh boy 35 days is a loooong time to wait for these little buggers! The white shells are awesome to candle though, I can see their heads and feet wiggling around in there. The one really doesn't like the candler and kicks the side of the shell, its pretty neat to see. I've never seen chick embryos that active.

Day 21... I have one out... and one with a pip. Hope things get busy tonight...

Thanks everyone. We were very surprised at our hatch rate. We did loose a chick yesterday :( not sure why. So now we have 8. Here are a few photos of them. They are silkies.
