Michigan Hatchers! What'cha got cookin?

Pics
Thanks everyone about the foal. I wish I could post pics but phone is fighting me and wont post.
Because she was born last night just as the rain started and a stome rolled in... I named her Silver Maples Before The Storm aka Rain.

Now I wait for my 25 expensive eggs to hatch as tomorrow is their due date. Hopefully my broodies who was chosen to hatch do a great job!

Sorry to hear ur egg loss naglady. :(

Yaaa
Agonizing! I am packing to be gone three days and find two pips on my duck eggs! I'll only be able to watch via FaceTime and give instructions to son and DH.

Yaaaay for pips! Hope your hatch is smooth and uneventful! And have fun on the island!

Does anyone near west michigan have any day or two olds for sale? My broody hatched out 4 of 6 eggs that were under her and I'm thinking about maybe getting a couple more babies for her. :)

Good luck to all that will be hatching soon, mine are going into lockdown today

tap your going to be missing the best part..
I think I might put mine into lockdown tonight too instead of tomorrow. I have a feeling they might hatch a day early since my temps have been closer to 100 as I have had to rely on the aquarium thermometer instead of the digital readout on the incubator (have it set at 101.8 to get the thermometers at egg level to read 99) this time around. know what that means? I GET TO CANDLE TONIGHT!!!! I should probably move my broody too. I'm going to give her one group of eggs to hatch out....less 'barred' babies to get mixed up that way.

Candled the eggs in bator #1 last night, day 7 and it looks like I have 100% fertility in every egg that I can see through. A lot of the Marans are so dark I'm going to have to find a stronger candler.

Last night was day 3 for the Marans from Wynette, they are in bator #2 and I moved my excess eggs from bator #1 in with them. I was expecting to be tossing at least a few of my girls' eggs and needing a few extras....guess not.

My humidity is staying around 20-24% , with no added water. This will be my first true dry hatch, I think its going pretty well.

I have silkie chicks hatching today and should have 2 polish chicks hatching also. Then a couple days later I should have 5 mixed breed turkey eggs and 2 duck eggs hatching! A couple weeks later I hope to have 6 Narrangansett turkey eggs hatching...

AND

since I just lost my poor baby Thomas (Narrangansett Tom) I ran out and bought an LG incubator and set 20 turkey eggs, 7 silkie eggs, 6 polish eggs, 4 duck eggs and many leghorn mix, EE and mixed breed eggs for a grand total of 54 more eggs! Hand-turning these eggs since I didn't buy the turner - EEEEEEK!
