Oh I have to edit my egg count,

I added another pure Speckled Sussex egg just before I left for work ;) Those little turds stopped laying for two whole days after I had to move them to a different breeding pen. The buff Orps kept on chugging along...I love those fluff balls.

Well out of 42 eggs total under my broodies...
I have a total of 25 that are 100% good and should hatch.
Im kinda bummed about loosing 17 as I paid good $ for these BUT at least I have this many and in all reality this is a good amount for shipped eggs from 2 diff breeders. And of course got my fingers crossed for as many girls as possible!

1 week left till they start hatching!

Ohhhhh you lucky you!

Those are pure chocolate english orphingtons and are worth some $. I have been trying to breed some more out without success. I have 1 currently and will be trying for more soon as my shipped eggs hatch.

Cherish them as they are rare and their parent's where imported from the UK.

Maybe you and mindylee can trade ? I sold my hatch where the buyer decided they didnt like some of the colors and one of those I bought back are turning into a long ago desirable genetic trait needed in my breeding program....you never know !

While grinning really widely, I'm so EGGcited! I saw veins! :weee Such a surprise since last hatch where all infertile!! :yess: Sorry, Im just super happy!!!
:weee :jumpy

And it's only day 3 lol :p

Woo hooo!

Day 10 here and I am DONE with waiting for them to be ready to hatch! 2 more Mondays and I'll be spending my day in the basement "sorting through bins" and watching chick TV.

Day 13. (ONE MORE WEEK! I CAN DO IT!) We were sitting in bed watching TV last night and my husband turns to me and says "don't we need to candle the eggs again? or did you do it without me?"

For acting slightly irritated at the number of chicks we potentially have to hatch next week he seems a bit excited about the hatching PROCESS at least. I've got my marans roo from Wynette chilling in a quarantine pen for another week and a half, and then I'm going to toss a few of my bossy hens in there with him to teach him how to treat the ladies and THEN I can put him in where I WANT him, which is with my Ameraucanas and possibly my EEs. OLIVE EGGERS HERE I COME!

Oh, and I have 10 silkie eggs that I need to pare down to probably 8 that I'm going to put under my broody silkie today. YIPPEE!
