Very interesting - read the reviews, they tell you how to test your hygrometer!

Read all 222 reviews? Nope.
Here's how I test my thermometers and hygrometers:

Tips on checking accuracy of thermometers and hygrometers:

The thing you want to do is check that any of thermometers and hygrometers are correct by testing them against a known criteria.
Comparing devices is useless unless you know how accurate any of them are.

I used a candy thermometer tested in boiling water and noted how far off 212 degrees it was...or whatever temp water boils at your altitude.
You can check your boiling temp at altitude here.
Then put the candy thermometer and 3 others in the incubator during the test run and compared them all, noting any differences.

I made a chart noting all temps and made notes about if this one reads this temp it is actually that temp.

Hygrometers can be tested by putting 1/2 cup salt and 1/4 cup water in a dish or jar and mixing it to a slurry.
Put the salt slurry jar and the hygrometer next to each other in a sealed plastic bag.
After 8-12 hours the hygrometer should read 75%...again note and differences and you're set.

That's what they said. The instructions were in the first three reviews ;)

Whoops. AcuRite it is...I bought 2 of the 613 models.

Note: they are NOT instant read temperature models. It will take 30 minutes or more for temperature changes to be reflected so if using to calibrate an incubator, be patient. The case warms to ambient temperature and to me it seems that it is a pretty good indication of shell temperatures, internal egg temps will match over time.

Humidity readings are instant read. If you lift the top of the incubator you will see the humidity drop instantly. If you mist the incubator with a squirt bottle, you will see it climb rapidly.

On a more positive note, I set my second clutch of the year last night. I have both purebred and a few mixed eggs.
16 Black Copper Marans _______2 BCMxBrahma
19 Buff Orpington_____________ 1 SSxEchequer Leghorn
7 Speckled Sussex ____________1 ASxSultan
1 Appenzeller Spitzhauben ______1ASxGolden Campine

48 total, since only 41 fit in the auto turner I will have to hand turn the ones set on the side. I am dry hatching, humidity is at 19% right now.
