Michigan Hatchers! What'cha got cookin?

definitely leave the plugs OUT! I don't even have the plugs for my incubator any more.....no clue where they went (but I also have forced air.) Plugs need to be out for air exchange and so your chickes don't get CO poisoning.

I have two broody girls right now. One was broody earlier this year and it didn't go well. The other is a first timer. They each have only a few eggs. I have incubators going too. I think I have a problem!

@glad i sell word of mouth, and craigslist and facebook selling forums..

@peepchicken i fill the resiviours with distilled water, and i have always left the red plugs in, and not open incubator till day 23 ,keeps your temp and humidity up, seems to work great for me there is enough wholes on the bottom for air, I never have a humidity issue.

@jlynnet lol you love to hatch just like us, i am going to do one more hatch, try ducks again, my friend is giving me some pekin duck eggs.. and i will do more chicken eggs. and after this next hatch i will be done. that way i can enjoy my summer. well thats the plan anyways..

I am super excited about these 2 chicks. If I had the genetic right for my cockerel, I have a slim chance if cream/blue barred/incomplete laced birds from one of my crosses. Or blue laced cream. Oh please let them be pullets!!

I'm just REALLY REALLY hoping they feather out to something INTERESTING. I've got lots of solid and barred chicks, I'd really like to get some more pattern going.

ETA: I'm trying to collect more eggs from the girls those came from, but my issue is that they're out of wyandotte eggs and I've got 3 'dottes and 4 orps in that pen and I can't tell their eggs apart. And they're protesting that I tried to separate them this morning.

So, erm, I may or may not have just passed the "half full" point of the turner. Decisions, Decisions. Do I wait another week to fill it, or do I call it "good enough" with 24 eggs. Actually, now that I think about it, I'll probably hold off putting it in the incubator since I re-homed my barred roo that was in the one pen until I put the new roo in (probably wednesday) and try to get every last egg that will hopefully be fertile from the first one. THEN it'll be time for OLIVE EGGERS!!!!!!
