Erm. Yeah. I may or may not have had to use my right foot to "open" the door. Of COURSE, I hadn't taken my phone out with me, or I could have just called my husband. Or if I had even HEARD my husband get home from playing basketball at the gym....he was looking for me and didn't know where I was until he heard me beating my foot into the door. I bent the latch just enough to get my hand out and flip the latch. No structural damage done.Reminds me of when my husband and I were building our coop (double walls with insulation, built sturdier than our house) and the door slammed shut on us without any way to get out from the inside. Luckily we had a rake on the inside that we could stick out the chicken door and open the latch. I would have been mad if we'd had to break a window on our new coop right away.Lesson learned.

ETA:
Does anyone within about an hour drive of the Traverse City-ish area have Speckled, Light, or Cornation Sussex eggs? Or some nice color Marans eggs? Or silkies? Or Partridge or Silver Pencilled Rock eggs? We're doing a test-hatch with a new roo in about 2 weeks and I'm interested in any of those types, or an assortment of a few or each? Might as well mostly-fill the incubator if I'm going to bother having it plugged in for 3 weeks!
