Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Congrats, Fancy Favie!!! I'm jealous of all you show birds out there!

I have a Q... is anyone from the Saginaw area planning on being at Chickenstock? I have a friend in Saginaw who is without transportation and may want to join us if anyone is willing to give a lift.

I have been pulling weeds and giving the weeds to the chickens. Last night while collecting eggs my cockle Welsummer rooster decided to attack me. Now I have cuts full lengthen of my left leg. I had him challenge me earlier last week. But I chased him right back to the open part of the run. This time I didn't see him coming at me, as I gathered the eggs from the inside of the coop. My guess is the rooster didn't like my crowing back to him. I have a sharp hachet and a pot of boiling water for this smart rooster or my husband offered me the .22 pistol. If my leg didn't hurt so much, I would have chicken dinner tonight. LOL

All the years I raised chickens for eggs and meat, I never had a chicken attack me before. I guess you're never too old to learn new things. After cleaning the wound to the sliced leg of mine, putting bandages on. My leg looks like a picket fence. The worst part is I have to go to work this morning at my regular job to pay for chicken feed. ROTFL Gotsa to have a sense of humor to deal with life!

Congratulations to all who did show their chickens. It's a feat I doubt I will attempt to do! Raz, sorry to hear of your law troubles. Perhaps you could contact Farm Bureau agency, they have been fighting all kinds of farm related problems with the uneducated city folks. Just a thought.

Good morning, everyone!!!

Mylobell, too bad about the aggressive rooster... but they're the best hen defenders!

Today I plan on getting laundry done and preparing for tonight's Tupperware party (YAY)! Other than that, just hanging out with the peeps at home and enjoying a day off of work.
