Ill need most of it befeore deer season starts & I dont even know when deer season starts.

Yeah we get that a lot, luckily we have been blessed with a good following of people. We are family owned and operated which means a lot to our customers too, and you don't get the run around from 15 different people. My husband is a huge hunter (he literally lives and breathes it) and knows his stuff....

Sounds like an expensive year! LOL Bow season starts Oct 1st and rifle season is Nov 15th.... although you can bow hunt during rifle season..... we are going to be starting our busy season, which means longer hours and less time spent with my DH, unless I go in and work in the pro shop too! People usually start buying their bows around now, to get used to them, get them adjusted and all that! If you have a facebook account feel free to like us, the store is called Droptine Archery & Outdoors

Oh yes you have time! Trust me we have it EVERYWHERE! Some in our storage unit, in our house, garage and at the store!

Removed the "fence" between our Reds & EEs a couple days ago - the EEs are still a little scared of the Reds, but no bloodshed at least.
Also made a box to raise the waterer - havent had to dig out shavings since

Hopefully, DW & I will be able to get the coop built this weekend & move them outside from the house . . . .

I am way behind on posts, don't have time to catch up now but your shop sounds very interesting... I have a 10 yr old grand daughter that is interesting in bows but is left handed, can you tell me about how much a lefty for a child would cost?

got a call from John in B in Burch Run, I had ordered chicks from him and they were put in the mail yesterday, arrived this AM bright and early, they are a great distraction LOL, all healthy and pretty

they are in the brooder I got from HH and doing well

Of the 8 Sebrights I have left, they have divided themselves into groups. One cockerel has claimed 3 pullets.

The other 2 boys have a girl each. But at the end of the day they all roost together.,

The alert roo on the right is the dominant bird and the only one to crow, It's not much of a crow, sounds likes a rusty gate hinge. Er,er, ah? When I laugh, he does it again.

These are the last birds that I need to re-home to be compliant with the court order.
Any takers for a temporary foster home?

I found this article while working with the students of Greenspire on this project. Thought it might help

Your sister and BIL are so nice!. I forget their names but BIL called me "young man" so I was laughing on the inside. Kids, I tell ya!

Crispy was/is my favourite hen, she was broody when you picked her up. She is a real cuddle bug. Gravy was/is my second favourite bird. That she is laying every day tells me that she is a happy hen.

I appreciate the letter writing campaign.
My BIL is really fun, he is very old school. They are really genuine people. The kids watched your story this morning in class and all 55 are really excited about this and are talking about a petition, and some are going to visit Lansing soon. They just do not understand how something so bad could happen. There are 22 of the 55 that have chickens and four families with large farms. Gravy loves to be held, and sit on my lap while I read in the sun. Crispy is amazing, She is in charge. today the girls shared a banana and she loved this! they love to play keep away with the worms in the garden. She and our Miss Houdini spend much of the day together. They are funny, the BO club. Thank you for sharing them with us.

Left handed bows I believe run the same price as a regular bow, we are probably going to have to teach our daughter how to shoot left handed, even though she is RH dominant, she is left eye dominant (which we found out when getting her ready to hunt, since she was holding the crossbow all funky)

We typically don't carry much for LH bows but we do order them as needed

Nova, that is just terrible. I hate that some parcel handlers just don't seem to care.

Scifisarah, Your DH sounds like a hoot. I'm laughing at the image.

Do the environment a favour...skip the landscape fabric. It is terrible stuff and don't work. Try this instead.

For a path, lay down 5-7 layers of damp newspaper and cover that with wood chips. The newspaper smothers weed seeds and the wood chips make a nice walking path. In the garden beds themselves, if you have established plants, pull the weeds by hand. A p.i.t.a. for sure but you avoid harsh chemicals. A new planting bed can use the newspaper with good compost on top. Plant directly in the new beds in about 4-6 weeks.

I think that most of us have Spring Fever and are anxious to plant. Waiting a few more weeks will not hurt the crop yield. I did some raking and I'm getting ready to lay out the newspaper and place a few straw bales on top of that. I'm trying a straw bale garden this year for some things. I'll take some photos and post the pictures as I go along.

Maybe the desire to plant is similar to the desire to see our eggs hatch and the anxiety of waiting for the hen to lay her first egg...

We tried newspapers in the past, but I don't think we ever went as thick as 7 layers. I will see if Rich can stop at the paper recycling place on the way home and get some stacks of papers. I certainly want to avoid using plastics and chemicals but I am at my wit's end for weed control. I picked up some straw from the feed mill in cedar springs today. Hopefully they won't be as full of seeds as last year.
