Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Never a fun time Sam... I had the same problem with my best turkey hen. As soon as I discovered the problem I grabbed the .22 and ... well you know the rest of the story.
LOL Tap. I have the same problem... might be an upper arm strength issue. I left a rude rooster in a worse state once trying dislocation so I won't do that again. Hope your DH's surgery goes well.
I decided to treat the chicks for coccidia. Gave the sickest chicks a few drops by beak so they were sure to get some. This morning, no more losses and all wet butts are dry and they seem more chipper. I will be running to TSC to pick up more waterers to provide electrolites and probiotics in addition to the coccidia treatment water. Keeping fingers crossed.

HH, Tap can put on a ball gown and come shoot it for you...

Hmm, perhaps the ducks could get out into his new fish pond. . . I better not do it, sigh, my ducks would get in trouble eating his new fishes in the pond. No, I really shouldn't do it. . . LOL! But it is so-o-o temping. ROFTL
maybe just put the nasty drakes in the pond, if he shoots them

Silly, glad you have that under control ,scary when they start going like that, and not know the reason

Tap hope your DH recovers from his surgery quickly!!

Drinking my coffee this morning and weighing the pros and cons of mowing the back yard today. It's almost a foot tall in spots, and I'd rather not invite ticks and other nasty bugs in since that's the yard we use for the dogs. I could also throw all the clippings in for the chickens. On the other side, if I go out and mow, I'll stir up all kinds of dust and pollen and probably spend the rest of the day with a cold pack on my eyes, and blowing my nose.

I'm setting my last set of eggs for awhile tonight or tomorrow. I've got eggs from the new pairing from my layer coop with my big Wyandotte roo, and I'm got BBS Marans, Olive Eggers, and Wheaton/Blue Wheaton Ameraucanas coming today. This will be my first run in the new incubator, and I'm really hoping for a good hatch rate!

Good Morning!! Gosh, it's beautiful outside! Hope you all get to enjoy the beautiful sunshine today!

Tap, I'll say a prayer for DH

HH... WOW! A bobcat! That's so cool... now that you don't have chickens anymore. But watch out for little Tucker!

Yeah! Floors are finally ready for the hardwood. All the glue is sanded off. Now, every surface of the house needs to be washed down. Even inside the cabinets are dusty.

Anyone want to come and have a washing wall party?

Nova around here a bobcat would be worthy of a ball gown but I would sure hate to have to shoot one this time of the year and have his beautiful pelt be wasted.

Thanks for the prayers, still waiting.

Opa, sorry about your hen.

Sure, just one thing, I don't usually drive very far so you will have to come pick me up.
I do keep a close eye on Tucker and my other little dog, Pip. Tucker is so little that a hawk or an Owl would think he's a rabbit.

My FIL was able to get a decent picture of the bobcat. He called us and told us about it and said it was heading our way. Otherwise we probably never would have seen it. I don't understand what's going on, this photo loaded in the sponsors area?? I could not get it to change

VERY good pic, no questioning what that is!!
we have had wolf sightings around us but no one can get a close enough look to be sure that is really what it is

What do you all do about Mosquitos??? They are nasty and are making it difficult to get anything done without being carried away by them. I hate to use bug spray and don't want to fog the yard as my girls free range. Any natural way that actually works???
