Um, okay. Does she know that I am a convicted criminal?

Very cool about the bobcat.

It just dawned on me that I could potentially be in jail for this year's Chickenstock. I have until June 4th to pay the fines and costs and I'm far from having the money. The court already issued a summons to appear.
What do you all do about Mosquitos??? They are nasty and are making it difficult to get anything done without being carried away by them. I hate to use bug spray and don't want to fog the yard as my girls free range. Any natural way that actually works???
I'm lucky in that I rarely get a mosquito bite. So I don't even see them if they are around. In my pond, I have small fish called rosies that feast on mosquito larvae.

Look around for standing water, even a cup full is enough for mosquitoes to reproduce. Dump out any standing water.

Ugh! My house smells like chick poop! I think we're going to have to figure out a way to get these meaties outside sooner than we thought we would. We're going to change the bedding tonight and see if that will buy us a few more days. Probably going to have to make a temporary low roof and box in one of the tractors and stick the heat lamp out there. Having your entire house smell like poo is no bueno.

I have noticed that adding pelleted pine horse bedding really helps hold down the smell- I use about half and half with wood shavings in my brooders.

Sure, just one thing, I don't usually drive very far so you will have to come pick me up.
I do keep a close eye on Tucker and my other little dog, Pip. Tucker is so little that a hawk or an Owl would think he's a rabbit.

My FIL was able to get a decent picture of the bobcat. He called us and told us about it and said it was heading our way. Otherwise we probably never would have seen it. I don't understand what's going on, this photo loaded in the sponsors area?? I could not get it to change

WOW!!! Where is that???

We use the pzd in the sand in the run and pine shavings in the coop. When they were indoors we just had to change the brooder every day! We lined the bottom with newspaper to make it easy to pick up.

Having the same issue here gladahmae - & a lot of dust mess too

. hopefully will get a coop assembled this weekend & relocate our birds outside .
well we have 70 meat chicks and about 15 (I forget how many at this point) layers in our basement......so we've got a lot of little fertilizers down there.

Probably wont be able to make it to ChickenStock this year (unless first hour only)

. i have obligations on the same date from 11:30 to 1:30'ish for the Red Cedar Jubilee Grand Parade in Williamston, MI the same day. Maybe my DW can make it out to the event tho? Was really looking forward to meeting some other chicken enthusiests. Oh well - maybe next year . . . . .
