Collecting the rainwater off your roof is actually better than letting it go down the drains. It helps reduce the pollutant run-off (CSO) that occurs during a rain event. Thus collecting rainwater helps the lakes and streams.I guess I can understand, but really, how much rain water is he collecting running of his roof that is going to be a detriment to the lake and river levels? Just crazy...
BTW an inch of rain can give your ~ 600 gallons of water in about an hour.
