dwalters, I have Belgian 'Uccle millies here near Perry, just west of Lansing. Not show quality, but nice birds. Right now I have 16 week old chicks out with two broody hens, five 10 week old chicks, and a year old cock, in addition to my othe seven adults. They free range along with the bigger birds, and have been an ongoing flock here for 20 years, with a few additions as outcrosses. Love them! Mary

Grumble grumble stupid chicks.

So I have this wheaten Americana (cockerel I think) that had a bald spot on the back of its neck about 2 weeks ago. I kept an eye on it and it didn't really change,.....figured it was just low in the order and had some feathers pulled out by another chick. Went out today to find it looking like this.

I've seperated it from the others. Treatment suggestions? :(

Ouchymama!!! Poor baby!!! I would use antibiotic ointment for sure neosporin? Maybe add some supplements to the water and food and keep clean. In this case should one give Tylan as well? Just as a precautionary measure? I almost think I would. My little girl got pecked pretty good but no where near that. I put neosporin on her and she is healing up nicely. Not as pretty as she usually is. But healing.
