Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Congrats on the girl calf Darron!

No matter the outcome I still will not allow it to change my belief that each day is wonderful and that the flowers petals smell better than the roots. Each day is a gift to cherish and we should share the joy of life with family, friends, and everyone we meet.

A great attitude to have!
We took 17 chickens to the fair yesterday. There was a rather disappointing show of chickens, however my son looks at it that he has less competition. The day ended with a migraine and my lap dog therapy.
I hope you are feeling better. Nothing better than dog therapy. I did not make it to our fair this year. Usually I am disappointed in the chickens too. Good luck!
I already figured about the light. My dad said he has had them hatch as late as Halloween. I will probably give it a shot. What does POL mean?
POL=point of lay
We will definitely be getting an early winter this year. I saw 5 or 6 flocks of geese heading south throughout the day yesterday. We also live by the woods and the trees are changing color more and more every day.

I have been noticing the changes too.

Not sure myself... maybe that they will be ready to lay eggs by spring, when most people are just getting chicks... you'll be ahead of the game for sure!

Wingless is trying to talk me into incubating some eggs. I'm thinking about it. I'm also thinking about some started pullets at the end of September as well. Either or
