Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I am getting rid of my old pool, Moter to the pump broke, the frame is good and sturdy if any one wants to try to mmake a run out of in, I think you could suround with chicken wire or hardware cloth, it is 48" high and 30' around I think, if no one is interestd I will take it to a friend that has a metal dumpster you would have to pick it up but I can hold it for you for a while

Does anyone have the link to the previous MI thread? There was a recipe on there for frying zucchini that I absolutely LOVED and I'm having quite a bit of trouble locating the thread.....

Fry batter, works for shallow frying too
(flour to coat whatever you are frying)
In the batter:
1 cup flour
2 Tb baking powder
1 1/2- 2 ts salt
1 cup water
1 cup milk
- toss zuccini in the flour to lightly coat, refridgerate for best fry. - heat oil. - when oil is ready mix batter, mixing the powdered ingredients first and then adding the wet and beating smooth. dip, shake off extra, and gently set in hot oil. Flip when lightly golden.
Nevermind! I found it! WOOO HOOO! Unhealthy dinner of fried homemade corndogs and fried zucchini here I come!!!!

LOL

I was gonna look it up too a while back but have been too lazy. My cooking stuff is still partially packed away since the move. Still working on getting in a kitchen!

I think it was totalcolor that tried it on fried chicken , spiced up a bit and liked it a lot. The flouring first made for a thicker batter suited to the chicken,
dipping it straight into the wet batter made for a super light lacy zucchini fry.
(If you cut zucchini ahead and chill it'll dry out a tad and makes for even better) Works great on those not-so-juicy green beefsteak tomatoes too, if anyone has those.

If you do a search on chocolate cake i also had a uber chocolatey super easy super tall chocolate cake recipe too; used oil and only needs a wooden spoon to make up. Easy as a box mix! Opa had some good ones too.

Another thread i posted recipes in, others recipes look great too https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/589544/cast-iron-newbie

I had a moment of weakness I look through the local shelter every week for a great dane. She popped up today... so I went to see this girl at the shelter ...... such a sweet heart, very calm and doesn't seem to let anything bother her. And the most crazy intense blue eyes I've ever seen on a dog. Hubby says no, but that's easy for him to say when he's not home to look into my baby blue eyes and say it again! LOL! If she is still there Friday we'll see. Surprisingly, she's not deaf!

Thanks for posting the recipes Chicken Ladies!! Last year I was making a Choc zucchini cake... Wondering if I can mod Fuzzy's recipe to take some of my yellow zucchini? Tomorrow is the day for baking, sitting on 2 doz duck eggs.
