Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Chickwhisperers,
you may share duke's info with friends and family. He is an expensive breed. We payed $1,200 for him. We don't want money for him, just a good home. I'm sure we could sell him on CL, but he truly is like a family member and a good home is more important then money.
We have a large 3 story house, and keep dog on a different floor then my son if he needs a break. We are willing to keep him if we don't find the right home, we just thought we would start asking around.
Thanks for the replies!

My neighbors son was looking for a mastif, I think they just got a pit, lab, mix from a shelter though, they live on a farm in upstate NY but he comes to town every other week end to see his daughter. I can ask if they are still interested.

happy birthday to your son, sure hope he is able to over come his fear, If the bite were any place else it would be easier, the face is very hard to deal with, So very sorry this happened

Deannag good luck on rehoming your guy, he is a beautiful dog, its such a pity to rehome him, I just hope your son can find warmth and solace with Dupe. Face bites are really rough on kids, but its where a dominant dog will bite a subordinate , especially younger dogs for corrections.

But when its a human youngster its really hard on them. Such a shame that your dog has to suffer for what the other did. I really hope that you find the right home for him.

So sad.... I hope your boy can heal...

I remember very clearly the day my little sister (she was maybe 4 at the time) was attacked by my mothers boyfriends two dogs. A pinscher and a GSD. Bit her face also. He then made my sister continue to feed and water the dogs so she'd get over it,(but he was a mean bugger, and he liked hurting people). She didn't really, and it wasn't until I had Sinbad and Lacey(a defective runt pinscher) that she was able to start being around those types of dogs. Then I had Baby...My lovely, sweet pit. She loved him, and she loves Argus. Took her nearly 20 years to be not afraid...

Just took this about 15 minutes ago. Standing on my back deck looking west. Pretty cool. It was pouring rain, but sun was still brightly rising in the east. Only lasted less than a minute before clouds fully took over....

I got to thinking I should give a little info about my location. I live 5 miles forom the border but I grew up in Michigan. And we do have some property in Michigan for retirement plans. Right now it's more of a little getaway wth a hobby farm and woods. I really like this thread too.
