No more hand milking! It usually take me about 25 minutes to milk Bella by hand, but with my milker, 10 minutes!!!

I love your milker!!!! Our goats (Nigerian Dwarfs) are just pets but I've often thought of maybe having a couple be milkers. Don't know but it would be fun and the cheese would be wonderful.

Yep, as snowflake said the dark one is from one of my Black Copper Marans (Maia). I got 2 BCMs from Wynette back in June at Chickenstock. I also get some very nice cream colored, tho not in this carton as they are still in the medium size range, & in a different carton (think I am getting them from my NHRs...) I honestly chose my chicken "breeds" to try & have a rainbow of colors! I figure the poor girl that gave that egg won't sit for a week...& can't wait to crack it open & see if it is "twins" or "triplets"...

Just read an article on candgnews.com-eastpointe man runs a fowl- city ordinance. The neighbors signed petition that his chickens don't bother anyone , but the ordinance allows for 2 ducks in the city and 0 chickens. He's had them 14mos and their his pets and he don't want to get rid of them. I felt so sad, reading this. I hope he don't give up his fight.

An interesting article about chicken eyes on this blog that was taken from a magazine.

Since I saw that you tube video about the chicken cam I've been looking for stuff on how chickens see. Watching the canaries catch fruit flies is pretty entertaining.

Very cool! Thanks!
