so what I really came back to the lap top for was to ask if any one is interested in some Lavender Ameracauna's, they are supposed to be standard but are bantam sized, are very sweet, have been vac. against Meraks, I have 2 hens and 2 roosters, would like $30 for all, I paid $9 each as chicks, I would love to keep them but I don't really have room to breed 4 different breeds and I am concerned about the hens getting hurt under a full sized roo. they are from John B a breeder in Burch Run. their hatch day was May 13

Oh MAN do I want to say ME ME ME! But I don't have a place to put them, and it's COLD up here right now. I wouldn't worry too much about the hens.....I had my silkie hen in with my LF layers and my gigantic wyandotte roo and she was just fine.....in fact, I have a bantam buff brahma in with them right now as well, and all I needed to give her for "protection" was a saddle.

For those that don't know, John Blehm is quite a well-known ameraucana breeder, so these should be good birds.

Get to chaperon my middle son's field trip to the pumpkin patch today! When the oldest went 2 years ago it was 50 degrees out. Doesn't look like we'll be that lucky today.

Good Luck, Sam! I'm sure all will go well. The not being able to eat is the hardest thing about these surgeries.

I have a elevated dog crate with a couple does in the run and only has a about a 1 1/2 foot clearance from the ceiling that I stuffed all my extra hay that the girls managed to make a scattered mess one day(its a good 6-7 feet off the ground) Any way while everybody else went on the am feeding frenzy caught Roseann the red beat up hen I had gotten(named because shes so brash rude and crude) flying up there. She sounded like she was growling and ****** off when I left. I've only found a couple soft eggs a while back but nothing more. If there is some hiding how do I know if their good?

All the best for those of you having surgery; missing breakfast is no fun! And not getting that caffine fix___ terrible! Getting the problem repared will be worth it. John Blehm's birds are very nice; I got some this spring and love them! Don't have room for any more now, though. Mary

Well, DH may not be able to eat. But not 10 mins after he got up, he successfully got an 8pt.
Freezer is 60% full...though he now up 2 to 1 on me...
Looks like we will be able to start helping local food bank & families in need of food early this year

Survey progress:

We got a copy of our deed from the county court today after what seemed like forever... we paid for over 16 pages of something... but couldn't tell because it was just a thumbnail. I called the registrars office and found out it was someone Else's mortgage... WTH?? Anyway, I requested a refund and finally got the right paperwork. The description on the deed is the same as the legal description on line.
No mention of fence lines etc. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean anything if the neighbors property's deed says the fence is his property divider.

So I sent it for a quote to the surveyor we would like to go with. He's gonna be expensive, but we know he is VERY thorough and helped my parents with a similar issue....... can't wait to see the price tag on this one!

Ok, now THAT is funny!!

So, chickens have been digging holes EVERYWHERE in the yard! Who knew they could dig so deep?

A few of them enjoying some deep dust bathing (& my little Spazzie posing so cute for the camera!)

Mine are doing the same, well on top of my neighbor's septic tank lid. My neighbor is so nice, she says she loves when the girls come over and visit and doesn't mind at all. I wonder if they're getting a lil bored seems the bugs are mostly gone?
