Guys I need thought! We have 2 bantam girls 1 LF roo and one LF girl. Our speckled Sussex Roo is very sweet. Will he crush my bantams if he mounts them? I would like to know so I can decide what to do.
You already said you can't leave, so it looks like your stuck adopted to all of us.Of course if someone here is willing to adopt me, I'll stay.
your ad looks good..
my birds have been tucking themselfs in pretty early the last few nights.. must be the cold..
I hope you find your boy a home. It seems like *somewhere* in this thread, someone has mentioned having a rescue in SW MI, near the border. If you need to, you could go through and try to find that post.
I keep seeing an ad for someone by me that takes in any unwanted chickens. And not for eating. It is listed in the grand rapids section on craigslist
Found it...http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/grd/4178154774.html
Not sure how close you are to this area though
Thank you, that's good to hear
Aww thanks. I hope he finds a home too. I will look a little around this thread, all tho I am not going through all the pages fully. Just scanning!
Thank you so much! I am checking out the link right now
Not sure how close you are to Bloomingdale but a couple there takes in unwanted animals. I can send you her information if you are interested.
Be careful of rescue places and try to ask around first. Someone i worked with is doing one but she did eat a lot of the roos and i think resold the hens. Almost had mine till i caught on... no longer friends. I hate liars.
May be talking about me. I have been labeled the local chicken 'rescue' around here, and it never surprises me to come home to find more birds. Got 7 from my sister's tenant who left them behind, 16 from a family friend, and my original 15 were from a couple getting out of the egg business.
Word of note, though, we do process most of the roos if we decide we don't need them for breeding.
