Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

That was my thought too. While it is too bad that your birds are gone, there are many predators that will relieve you of your birds given the chance, and she is just another one on the list. As my good friend Vera always says -

Never get into a stinking contest with a skunk.

If you are interested come spring, I may be able to get eggs to you for the phoenix. You will have to hatch them, Ibrykowski.
I see ur from Holland, that's a bit of a drive. Been there once when I worked for Johnson Controls, that was probably the most beautiful plant i had been to. It was also in a beautiful area, Holland was lovely and I was only there for 3 days, but actually thought about putting in for a transfer, but all my fam is here. I don't know how to hatch eggs, I have only had chickens since this past summer, so I'm still learning alot. Hoping I get a broody hen that will do that or I'm gonna have to buy more stuff for lil ones and learn how to do whatever you do to hatch eggs. lol I seen ur birds on the phoenix forum and they are very pretty. How is the general temperament of that breed?

Cut the head off? Well why not... Maybe they were making sure it wouldn't come back as a zombie. Lol

Thanks, guys! I was just so excited and couldn't post it on FB yet because everyone wasn't told yet. Went to my other family and totally got deflated from lack of enthusiasm. But, lessons learned. Family is not always what you think it is.

Glooming day. Yesterday was pretty nice and was able to do some stuff outside. We're suppose to get rain/powder sugar for the next few days. Have a good day.

I have been doing most of my posting on "fuzzy's farm". I am always unsure how my comments are taken here since i am more mushy than most about my birds and not everything going on in life is cheerful always...

I do try to give input when i can though; never know what may help.

Most of us are mushy about our pets. lol I don't mind that people eat their animals. They can't be pets, or else you couldn't eat them I did not grow up eating the food I raised. You have to be in a different mind set to raise food rather than pets. To each their own. Their own reasons for having chickens, cows or whatever you raise. For me, it brings a bit of the simpler times. Love seeing the chickens in the yard. Love the eggs. Just, peaceful and calming.
So, don't be afraid to post! There's plenty of us out there that share your views.

I am a vegetarian who keeps hens as adored pets who lay eggs.
There are folks who dote on their birds, and don't blink when it's time to put them on the table for a meal.
There are folks who raise chickens for egg and meat purposes, and ensure that the needs of the birds are being met, but don't get attached.

And we/they all have the right approach. There isn't a wrong way.

Personally, I miss you and your mush, fuzzy. ;)
