CHICKENWANNAB-the Lavender Ameraucana sounds very pretty. I seen that Meyer's Hatchery started taking spring orders today, but not for the Ameraucanan's yet. I was looking at the broad breasted turkeys and thinking of trying 5 of them next yr for good eating.
TREFOIL- Of course i have 0 of those kinds of birds, so I might not have any broody's then.

LISANGIRLS- If they have worms, do you see them in their stools when u clean each morning or do they just get sick?
NOVAMAN- Gainsborough is beautiful, they all are, but he really stands out.

Whew, now i need to go get another cup of coffee.

I had a nice lengthy response to many posts....but my computer ate it so....
Lady, great coop.
Stacy, great job. I was also the oddball taking hunters safety at 22. I have taken more does than bucks but I tend to think about grocery bills more than antler points.
Opa still hanging in there? I hope your son gets a deer, a good tenderloin is sure to speed up your recovery.
Nova your Phoenix is very handsome. My poor guy has too many girls around. They are the flightiest birds. I tend to find them roosted in the trees when no one else does.
Today the snow (it's time to be realistic) is actually pretty. Yes you heard me correctly. I just want to stay in and bake and sew. Tomorrow when I have to drive in it I'm sure my attitude will not be so nice.

I wonder what it is about computers that cause them to send my most eloquent posts off into cyberspace? Then when I try to remember just what I had written that was so profound my mind is so stunned by the lost post it is unable to reconstruct it. I think my computer is deliberately making sure that I appear stupid.

Two hours of this morning was spent tethered to the IV bag of antibiotics and then on the the doctor's office so they could look at the incision to see if it is healing properly. More time was spent with the receptionist scheduling future visits than was spent with the physician's assistant. Given the potential consequences of not following the treatment regime I guess this is preferable to my family having to spend time with a funeral director.

I have my muzzleloader loaded and sitting where I can grab it quickly in a deer should wander into the field behind the house. In the past I have shot several deer by just stepping outside the door and taking a 130 yard shot. I . As we were sitting here eating lunch I was telling David how since I shouldn't go to the woods to hunt properly I might be able to kill one in the backyard. As were discussed that possibility it suddenly dawned on me that firing a gun might not be a good idea. The PICC line (peripherally inserted central catheter) enters my right bicep then travels up thru my shoulder, across my chest, and terminates just above my heart. Shouldering a weapon would put it directly over that line. The recoil impact would be upon the line and I'm not sure if that is such a good idea. So rather than take a chance I will just forgo doing much of anthing until this line is removed.

While I was at the doctor's office David put down 7 old birds for me. He only dispatched the obvious ones and there are another 5 that should go as well. However, I am grateful for his efforts. I sure hate the fact that I must allow others to do things that I ordinarily do but to no allow them to help and try to do it myself would be foolhardy.
