mara1... So sorry :(

So, birds actually decided to come out today..into the slush. Pretty much right to the deck. Got some molting going on. Poor Maia (BCM). She is starting to look like a naked neck!

Can ya pick her out?

She could use a cute x-mas scarf.

Our roost, and mara1;
I may be able to be a go between. I will be right by our roost (north) this week and be back to Ottawa county later in the week if you would like me to transport, I'd be happy to help!

Thanks for the offer that's still a little far. Lansing, Port Huron and Toledo would be about the furthest. Anything between Howell , Monroe and Armada would be Ideal.

Also thanks Opa your previous post where you take culled birds to the raptor center popped in my head while I was shaking my head at what a waste. I found a raptor rehab closer http://spiritfilledwings.org in Oakland county. It at least gave me a purpose while cleaning up the mess.

Mara1 I'm in northern Oakland county. I could sell about 4 layers to you. They've molted and are back to laying good again. I have hens going on 2 & 3 yrs old.

Last spring we had a difficult time rehoming a rooster. After months of trying we found an ideal home for him. Well, there was the problem of him being the only chicken on the 10 acre farm. However he had a barn to himself and free range to the place. I was of the impression that he was doing fine. I WAS OUT OF TOUCH TO SAY THE LEAST. Yesterday I heard he had fought to the death, of both roos, with a neighbor rooster. And he didn't even have hens to fight for. Poor Ruffus, he was such a beautiful Welsummer.

Be careful on the ice everyone.
