Peep-Chicken, naaah, I don't thinks so. I have 21 birds with 7 of them laying and only get a few eggs daily. Its just the weather. 3rd year of winter and its the same thing every year. They just seem to shut down and dont lay as often. I wouldnt worry too much just yet, but keep an eye on her for other signs just in case.

Hope everyone had a nice Christmas! We received a couple of inches of yesterday.

I hope those downstate all have power! Such a terrible storm last weekend. We received mainly snow up here.

Here is Pippin, the rooster. The swelling has gone down in his wattles but they haven't turned black so I don't know if they were frosted. His crest feather were frozen the day before and his pink scalp showing through was a target for the ladies. So all in all he looks beat up.

We finally saw some sun today. I am so over the snow now! It is taking me over an hour and a half each day to shovel, (and I have to shovel more every time I go out! )feed and water the birds, and I haven't been able to do any real cleaning with everything frozen solid. And don't get me started on frozen eggs!

Hollyduck you're just full of good news. I'm ready for spring. I saw that anyone without power for 5 days or more was eligible to apply for a whopping $25. Hope everyone has theirs back, its too cold to be without heat,and hauling water in this weather is really miserable.

Does your son wrestle High School? Or myway?

High school-Junior, he does football, baseball and track also to stay all-academic so there's no time for myway. We do have 2 on our team that do myway on off season. I hear it's pretty chaotic. My son Brad wrestles for Capac and he is either 8th or 9th in state now on the MI Grappler, it keeps switching back and forth. 13-1 right now He's in 215 bracket now cuz that's where he's needed, he only weighed 199 so were tryin to up his weight, been hitting the weight room and after a few Christmas dinners (heehee) yesterday he weighed in at 207. Getting there

$25 wouldn't even cover the food you lost, more or less gas in a generator or anything else. Hope the power's back on for everyone.

Holly-0 again coming? Noooooooo I feel so sry for the birds not getting to go out much and play, even the ducks are playin less and they usually like the snow.

I think we all got a bit spoiled with last years more mild winter and the incredibly long warm fall we just enjoyed.
If I lose power I also lose water being on a well...thankfully I didn't lose it the last 2 times it was bad around here, one of those times I had an incubator going.
Knocking wood and grateful those frigid 4 days coming up are bracketed by nice 'warm' spells....It's supposed to be 40 here tomorrow!!
