Now that Christmas is over, I'm ready for the snow to melt. I do love a white Christmas!!!

After all of this talk about cold weather, I have a cold weather issue... My Alfa male rooster "Jack" is an Isa Brown. He has a large comb that is getting frost bitten. Yesterday he had blood on his comb, and top of his head/back of his neck. I'm not up there to put utter cream or anything on it. The coop is cleaned daily, and its well ventilated. The waterer is a 5 gal bucket kept warm with a heat lamp and has about 6 nipples attached to it. So he's not getting his comb wet by putting his head in water...
Any other ideas? The chickens are up north where its very cold.
