Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Oh my gosh this weather. The wind is just so terrible, especially in the open farmland areas.

And it is my LAST day at my job. I have show up, I can't not go to work even if the roads are brutal. It is written in the policy book that during the final two weeks, any absences that aren't accompanied by a doctor's note means that person forfeits all accrued vacation and sick time. I want that to buffer my last paycheck, so I'd rather not lose it.

I hope you have safe travels and a good last day. Good luck with your transition!

I don't have enough! Just 1 more color! I know I don't have it...
My hubby thinks I'm nutz!

So I buy an incubator - and now I have a broody hen! I want to let her have a few eggs, too, but I think it's going to be too cold. And she's hogging the nesting box - but that didn't seem to deter the other girls as she had 6 eggs under her! What to do!
Is your coop large enough to pen her separately? If so, that's what I would do, she should be able to keep the chicks warm enough as long as her pen isn't too large.

I more n less just a iris junky and love the blooms. Iknow a few folks r comin out during bloom season and Iif I have a few of a color I dont mind selling. I know my sister, mother, & mother-in-law are chomping at the bit for them to bloom this spring. In total I think I have approx 2500-3000 iris.

Oh my I see chick for flowers exchanges in some ones future. ;)

I love iris' as well. But my friend (named Iris by the way) bought some 'black' ones and now thinks they pollinated and changed all of her yellow and blue to black. That is the only thing she had bloom in the whole bed this year. Could that be?

Anyway it would be a good idea I think for egg or other poultry exchanges for bulbs! In the future I will have Heritage RIR to offer but am just starting with them.
