question about Welsummers......I know you can tell difference between male and female chicks, it was posted here before, now that they may be in the store, I would like to practice. but can't remember the difference......... any one help?
Scroll back to the pics I posted last night. Very obvious when you see them...I hope :)

Hey guys. Keeping this short as I have no internet at the moment and borrowing my husband's laptop in a restaurant with wi-fi. Our Freedomnet hasn't worked out thus far and it's completely dead.

I'm still looking for hatching eggs of the white and blue variety. I'd like not to have to drive too far but if I can't locate any around here (West MI), I'll drive a bit. I'm willing to pay but could also do a swap. I have a wheaten marans rooster with good form and wheaten marans hens and an EE hen that lays blue eggs. When I bred her with our old BO roo, we got the greenish eggs you see below so I imagine the wheaten marans x EE would yield some pretty greenish eggs. The colors in the photo below are close. I can't guarantee the fertility rate of my eggs because though I have been seeing clear bulls eyes in a lot of the eggs, I haven't hatched any from this rooster yet.

ETA: none of my birds are show quality. I'll try my best to check back in in a couple of days.

And look what I had visiting the other day!

Wow. You're color palette is GORGEOUS!

I SURE hope FreedomNet is gonna refund all of your costs. That is a total bummer. I've had the opposite luck with them (my choices were that or Hughes Net); have had better service for the last 6 years than I ever had with Comcast back when I lived "in the city".

I got my "been on BYC for 4 yrs" badge...

Gorgeous palette....you need some olives in there too.
Wish I could help you out with a swap.

Is that a bluebird?

Ugh , I just back from the ER. I dislocated my knee cap, talk about painful. My knee was locked in the bent position and luckily my neighbor was home to carry me down the stairs to our truck. Now I can't even carry water out to my coops. Its a good thing I had cleaned the coop this morning. Now I just have to hope there isnt any problems that they couldn't see on the x-rays.
