I think the hens do and will have top priority. Unless he is a beloved pet it is a loss. Does he come to you otherwise of is he pretty wild? What breed is he? Either way you are deemed a threat and anytime the girls squeak or get close to you...my pet one that got onery i seperated from the girls into the little "naughty coop" for a few days at a time. The wild ones i had got creative in their attacks anf became dangerous. If you have kids def don't wait!

I wouldnt think of him as particularly wild. He always respected my space before. If I walked towards him he would run in the other direction. I never really held him or anything cause I didnt want him TOO friendly and I read it can be bad to coddle them. He is a BO, which is supposed to be docile, lol! He will run up to me for scratch though, he just doesnt like to be picked up. Took me quite a while chasing him around the yard to grab him and carry him around for a bit! I think he just might have to go. I want a rooster, but one that respects me and my space, which he did until yesterday. We will be doing a big butchering in the summer so he will probably go then. Unless the attacks continue or get worse, then he'll go straight to the stump.

HI EVERYONE!!!....everyone doing okay out there??? I'm not up to date, so I hope all is well....RAZ are you asking for trouble?? My pussywillow is just opening....NO MORE SNOW.

Okay...I promised you guys I would be in touch once the Martha Stewart thing went live and it took them FOREVER

...but last week it finally came out and they mentioned BYC!!! But....

they wouldn't mention the plight of the backyard farmer. It was "too political."

Still, if people join BYC they will learn...and any education is better than none.

And I'm begging for eggs again...I need specifically any BLUE DUCK or BLUE or GREEN chicken. Will take browns and peachy/pinks, too. WHITE duck as well. Will pay up to $3 for chicken, $3.50 for duck. But...I can't drive more than an hour each way...just too far. I am at 25 Mile and VanDyke (near Romeo). If anyone has past primes or incubator duds that don't stink, I'll take them. PM me if you got the goods.

My son's EE at 6wks now. I love the coloring, she/he I think looks like a lil hawk almost.
The EE blends in well with the Light Brahma's also.
For an added bonus, a pair of wood ducks stopped by my pond for a visit, wish they would've stayed, they are so pretty

Too bad you aren't near me. I am planning on worming the flock tomorrow and have to toss the eggs for at least ten days. Almost all my eggs are blue because of all the Araucanas!
