Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I will bring them to Chicken Stock. If I am able.
You better Mr. I think CS14 is going to be a wee bit less organized this year, lol! I don't think the Attendance, Food, or Swap threads have been updated so I couldn't get a accurate count on much. In retrospect, I think there will be a healthy turn out.

I'd like to think it'll be like years past since it's a good haul to get there. Since Opa's not running the swap I was thinking you should, or will that be a thing of the past? Besides the sign in book I believe there are tickets for the swap? The one for one swap. You got that stuff too? If I were closer I'd get the stuff off your hands. If you really have a problem (like not finding someone to get it) PM me and I'll see about an extra road trip to the east side where you city folks dwell, lol!

Here's hoping we have another fun, and sunny, day in the park!

Sold two more rabbits - inherited four more ducks? Somethings not right.

Ducks, Rabbits, goats-doesn't matter, it's all chicken math

We got a call late night 2 nights ago from a family in town who said they found a baby duck in the road and no mom in sight and knew we had ducks. I went and got it, it was only a day or 2 old. I believe it was also a mallard, it was stir crazy running back and forth in the brooder, would drink but not eat. We have a pair of mallards at our pond so i tried putting it out there, but they paid it no attention. The next day I noticed it hadn't ate still and did some research on mallards and what they eat. From what I read it said it was illegal to have mallards or canadian geese, but did say if your trying to save a baby, what to do. Mothergoose.com, I believe. A friend of mine came and picked it up and tried to get it to eat, but she texted me that it has passed away. It seems harder with the wild animals to teach to eat and drink with no mama.

Ok, question everyone. My sister found a very small (2-3 day old) baby duck on her road after work tonight. No bodies of water nearby and no mama in sight. They brought it inside but have no idea what to do with it now. The poor thing is frantic. They dont have food or a heat lamp for it either. The earliest I can get to them is Sunday (we are getting our own ducklings on Wednesday). How should she care for it until then or is there anyone in the Owosso area that would be willing to care for it? It appears to be a mallard.

Same duckling? Poor thing.

yes it is illegal to have one in your possession. The duckling should have been left where is was, just cause we don't see mom, doesn't mean she is not there or won't be back to collect her offspring , more than likely she's waiting for us to leave. Since it wasn't left alone, next thing to do is call the DNR and they will recommend a rehab person to take the duckling too for care.

see my statement above. Call the DNR - it is illegal for you to have in your possession.

Congrats on the new grand daughter!

We had another visit from a bear then it went next door to my in laws. By then it was daylight [ 6:15 am] and they actually got to see it and get some pics from the window.

Oh my RaZ! That is just not fair! I wish I could do something to help about the court! My brother isn't to far from you in GC and a daughter in Canton. I could pick them up if you could get the items to one of them. In the mean time I'll be saying a prayer that all goes well.:fl

Fair is not part of the legal process.

What fair is, is getting the stuff I have to Chicken Stock in case something happens to me. I was asked to share our meager supplies with the group and I want those supplies to get to the group. I think that I'm going to need some help.

This is not my stuff, this is stuff that belongs to all of us who attend Chicken Stock.

I'm sorry if you misunderstood what I was saying. I was offering to take them to CS for you. :)
