I'm near lapeer and looking for blue and black SQ LF and bantam cochins if anyone has some! Also looking for a bantam colombian cock or cockerel for sl project. Thanks!
Coop taking out are hand raised babies that we've had about 2 mos since they were 3 days old. We thought there pen was varmit proof but we'll definitely be adding more to it. But now i have 2 heart broke lil kids. I got them 4 ducklings but couldn't find any pekins or mallards which is what they had and loved. I'm located in Ithaca and willing to travel if someone has n e for sale
Still sad but there was peace today. Blue is learning a new trick; if you put your arm out for a roost he will fly up to it! I learned this while waving mosquitos away ! He is such a gentle giant.
Hello everyone. I know I'm not on here much but I have a question I'm hoping some of you experienced people can help me with. I have 2 new baby hens that are about a month old. When I got them the feed store by my house said we could introduce them to the rest of the flock in about 8 weeks or when they are the same size as the others. We already have an outdoor pen for them so they can see each other. And also someone has already suggested to me to introduce them at night. Any other thoughts of suggestions? Also, one of my concerns is the feed. How can I still feed the young ones their starter food and the older ones their laying food? Can I mix it together with the laying feed for all of them or is that bad for the youngins? Any suggestions would help greatly. Thanks!
First completely isolate the new birds for at least 2 weeks, so you can monitor for signs of disease.
Young growing birds should not eat a layer ration. You could switch to a grower/finisher or all-flock diet, make sure you offer oyster shell on the side.
