Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

So far so good... We are still planning on coming to CS this weekend. Yip Yip.

Though we've been acquiring the "ho-hum's" about it with all the chaos that's been going on around here lately. We're just SO tired!! We haven't had a weekend off in ...um.... I don't know how long. And we still have every weekend booked between here & September. I will be there at CS though. I am excited about getting a new FBCM pullet from Wynette.

I just booked a cruise yesterday for DH, myself, and our 3 teenagers!! OMG -- Scary!! It's been over 15 years since DH & I have been on one. It's a "super out of our budget" thing with kids, etc. However it's been a long standing dream of DH & I to take our kids on one as a family. If we're ever going to do it, we'd better start planning because time is running out, the kids are growing up, & life is too short to spend it all working. Three weeks ago we attended the graduation of my best friend's twin daughters. I helped raise those girls & it was a huge slap in the face to me knowing our own will start graduating soon. DH & I talked about it and I made the down payment yesterday. Sometimes we just have to bite the bullet... drive a rust bucket if we need to... & put the money towards memories. We're going as a family during our oldest's senior year. I know... this is completely not chicken related (unless you consider needing a farm sitter, which we have one already), but I couldn't help but share.

Meat birds STINK! And DRINK! And EAT! And DRINK! And did I mention STINK??!!! BLECH! ... I cannot wait for these beasts to GO OUTSIDE!! I wish they would feather in faster. They're 2 weeks old and I'm on my last gag reflex.

Lastly, I'm on the hunt for someone to RE-castrate one of our nigerian dwarf goat wethers. One of our boys (2 years old) had decided this past winter to bully the hay feeder and not let the smaller goat eat. He also has a bit of um... well, his castration must not have been completely efficient. So we're hoping that if we have that corrected, it might help his recently acquired bullying. Suggestions?

need a saddle pic? The base tail feathers would be showing sex for sure. Long thin and pointy for boy, short and blunt for girl. Comb is kind of red, usually i think americanas are longer to wait for lay. Friendly intelligent eyes, nice color so all hope is not lost if it is a boy; purebreeds are easier to adopt and lavendar is still a buyable color.

Speeking of pure breeds, i saw 3 rusdian orloff boys at auction sat!!! And doves finally! None for me. I was just there to peek and grin. Can't house any more boys, and the doves were tan and i want a chocolate or blue. Once the trailer is more finished i can pursue an indoor dove aviary. I have been wishing though. No more chickens for a while for me i think, i am down to my breeding quad plus my little mini d'uccle roo and his sussex girl. Only doves inside for now! I miss waking up to my little roo but he gets sun and breezes now. I still hope to find a girl his size though! But still no sign of breeding (i almost lost him last summer and he hasn't bred since) no biggie i just hope he is happy .
Ok, here are some body pictures. I didnt really know what I was supposed to be looking for/taking photos of, sorry! Hopefully you can help me figure this out :)

The last 2 pictures are of 2 different lavenders.
