I've had good luck with golfballs a few times.

Skunks - I was working on the coop today, putting up an elevated poop board and new, longer roost. I had pulled everything out to clean the coop before getting to work, and ended up still finishing up in there after the chickens had come to roost. At 8 o'clock pm I had wrapped up for the day and was bringing the nest boxes back in, and accidentally knocked a corner off. So I got out the wood glue and was sitting quietly clamping the nest box together for a bit in the coop. On my way out of the run, I met a skunk walking into the run, yikes!

At least this one ran away. A couple weeks ago I was locking up a bit later than usual - oops - And met a skunk in the woods on my way to the coop. It took me a second to realize it wasn't my black and white cat running at me from the woods, and I barely got into the run and slammed the door before it hit the hardware cloth behind me. Scared the bejesus out of me! It wandered off when it realized it couldn't get in.

I was sure it was rabid, but my papa tells me skunks are just mean jerks. Yay, I guess?

Skunks do not back down! They know they have the upper hand, but I did not know they would come at someone!!!

All this skunk business makes me think twice about letting the dogs out at night!

I'll try the golf balls in the nest box. She just isn't interested in going in there. She seems very food-driven. Should I lure her into the box with treats? I dunno.

I am trying to figure out the best way to take over the MI members list thread...
If I post everyones names again without asking can I get in trouble? Even if I post that I will remove the names if they ask?

If I post all the names in the original post... they can only be editted for a period of time, then I can no longer edit the original post.
BUT if I post them as the first comment, I can change that whenever I want right?

Should I just start a new list and include the first in my original post?

I think it has something to do with the whole vortex of life...the farther you are down the throat of the spinning funnel the faster you're spinning and the faster everything else seems to go....

That sure sounds like she's saying you are old.

Good morning Michigan. Almost blew away yesterday the wind was so strong - at one point almost knocked me off my feet. There were trucks, vans, campers, and all kinds of other high profile vehicles parked all over Saint Ignace yesterday afternoon waiting to get across the Mackinac Bridge. Gusts on tbe bridge were up to 68 mph.

Have to go to court this afternoon. DH has to testify for a friend of the family in a small claims case. I'll just be going for moral support. I love going to court though. I used to do it often in former work that I did. Court proceedings are like a play production. Everyone has a part to play, though sometimes it ends up feeling like stand up comedy. I'm guessing that Raz has not felt that way though with his frequent appearances.

Looking forward to clearer skies. Needed the rain, but the cold, wet, gray weather really is depressing. Weather says that October and November will be much above normal, and December just above normal. We'll have to see if that ends up being right. Not much we can do about it either way, but take the time to prepare for winter the best we can.
