Quote: Maybe rinse it down a bit and throw very thin layer of straw down, chooks'll scratch at that brown into the green laden soil.

I did that during the snow melt this spring, some shallow puddles and stinky, worked out pretty good...but sandy here and drainage is good, might not work as well if no drainage..

I think the weather people should do a recap 24 hours after their forecast. Just to see how accurate they were. Kind of like a batting average.

They are hardly ever right anymore. When we lived in TX, the weather guy would do just that, we called it the "eating weather crow" episode.

I have all sand but in the winter drop straw to keep them warmer; then scrape it out come spring. The leftover bits get stinky and make cement no matter how much i think i got out. Then i have to go in and break it up, dump water buckets.
Been working but now on 5 years it is not ?? So maybe more aggressive flushing is needed? I take out the worst of it and deposit out back. Or find a safe enzyme?

OMG..I cannot BELIEVE how tired I am today...
I actually am drinking a Coke Zero with caffeine at my desk here at work..(I never drink caffeine after 9am, latest).
Glad I decided to take tomorrow off to tackle the insane amount of strawberries in my fridge...
Then, short day of work Thursday (which just happens to be my BDAY :)), Holiday Friday..then off ALL next week!!! WOO HOO!!!

Yep, know NONE of that is chicken related; but I am trying any and all things to stay awake right now!

I noticed today that one of my hens has diarrhea. The only difference in her diet is she has been eating grower food because we are in the process of introducing little ones. Any advice?  Thanks
It could be the heat. They have watery poo when it gets really hot.
