And yet if you drink and drive or get busted with drugs or owe outstanding child support or a real criminal... Ya get a slap on the rist and a tiny fine with no jail time.
What the h***has this stupid county come to. Gosh our laws are so stupid here in Mich and other states!!!

FOR WHAT??????
Please, please, please say you are pulling our leg....
If not....this is NOT RIGHT....outrageous doesn't even cover it....
I cannot even put in print what I really am feeling,,,
We have egg eaters. I'm going to build a roll-away nest box pretty soon. Our egg production is down a tad. Our Maran is not laying at present either. Come to think of it the EE that lays double yolk mega eggs hasn't laid for awhile.I was out doing the barn chores Monday & heard a female guinea call.I inspected them closer & of the 2 keets (9 weeks old) & it looks like we have 1 male & 1 female. Cool beans!
Also... as I was out doing the chores... I think I found an egg eater. GRR. She must have just started this, or has been very sneaky about it, because we haven't been seeing any messes or broken eggs or anything in the nest boxes -- until Monday. I sent DD out to pull all the bedding out of the coops so I could go out after work & give them a thorough cleaning. My daughter told me she found a broken egg in the nest box as she was cleaning it out. Hmm. Then we had a lady lay an egg in the empty box (because I was busy & didn't get to it right away), and they needed to use the box. Later, I scrubbed down the coop like I wanted to do & cleaned the newly smashed shell mess. Usually, while I clean the coops, it's no big deal for the hens to hang around, crab at me for messing with their nest boxes, or inspect/criticize my hard work. But as I was in there cleaning I noticed one of the hens (currently molting & not laying as far as I know) just hanging out in the empty nest box. "Why are you farting around in there?! You have nothing to do." Then I noticed the yolk on her feet & beak. UGH. "Oh I see, ya freeloader... Don't have anything to do to keep you busy, so you come in & eat the rent the other ladies are shelling out! I don't think so!". We tossed her in the grow out pen with the babies. There are no eggs to eat in there & now she has something to do... babysit. To rub salt in her ego, I went ahead & put some fresh straw down in the big run & then sprinkled lots of scratch in it & let her watch the other ladies enjoy digging for their treats. Ya, I'm a bit evil that way. She's lucky she only got evicted.
Lastly... and this is not a complaint, just chicken stuff on my mind. I've been waiting patiently, but the 8 mth old marans pullet I got from Wynette at CS just isn't laying. She doesn't seem to be molting (not seeing any feather loss from her), doesn't seem stressed, sick, or anything... just not laying at all.Looking forward to the dark eggs... I will continue to wait.
I have to disagree with the DUI I know kids that have paid over $10,000 in court costs and fines, done jail time, and lost their license, Get caught once and it NEVER falls off your record. get caught at 21 then again at 41 you have 2 issues , 3 times and you are a Felon. If you go out for dinner and have a few drinks with dinner, go to a wine tasting event, go to a wedding reception and have a few drinks then get in your car and drive home you are most likely over the limit and drinking and driving. the laws in Mi. are not light.
I am not condoning drinking and driving, Personally I don't drink at all BUT I do not consider that a slap on the wrist. It is one of the biggest money makers for the St. of Mi. they target young people, middle class, and it is all about the $$. I was sitting in on court once, a guy had been stopped at a stop sign with a tail light out, Cop ran his plate, he had a prior 10yrs earlier, Poor sap had stopped for a drink after work, Now he has to find a ride to work or drive with out a licence
I'm trying to get my mind wrapped around the sentence that was handed down. The original charge was for the garage paint back in 2012 when the OO was writing me tickets for everything while the chicken case was in trial. Even though the garage issue was resolved with the siding, the judge placed me on a year of probation that I was not told of. So when the ordinance nazi was here 2 months ago he wanted to look in the yard and the garage. He had no warrant or even probable cause. I refused to let him in and that triggered a "probation violation".
So even though I was not ticketed or charged with anything, the judge issued the probation violation and thus the sentencing on the garage charge under "2000 International Property Maintenance Code Violation". So it is 30 days in jail or I can go to a work programme for 15 days that costs $30 per day, payable in advance. $450 that I do not have. Plus the probation department says that the ordinance nazi can "inspect" any time he wants to and if I get a ticket for anything that will land me in jail for 30 days.
So I am trying to figure out what my next steps are. I have 45 days to report to the work programme. Welcome to the theatre of the absurd.
