Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Only two things are required to have a weed free garden. ..... a hoe and sweat
I worked the horticulture hot line for a few years and was often asked how to get rid of weeds.

My reply was to use grease.
The caller always asked what kind.

And I always said "elbow".

Hmm. I am pretty sure fungal/ mold is a possibility, the camper coop had started leaking

also the insulation between walls had attracted mice. I wonder if garlic could work on a larger scale? I have 2 groups of birds i'd want to treat.
From all I have read about using Oxine as a nebulizing treatment, you can treat them all with no ill effects by turning it on in the coop. Oxine in it's activated form actually kills bacteria and fungus, where in the inactivated form only inhibits it.

None of my other birds have the problem, only Hawkie so she must be susceptible to fungus aggravations in her lungs.

You only want to use the inactive form of Oxine when using steam treatment or using in water with direct exposure to the chickens.
The activated kind is only for solid surfaces or equipment to clean.

So I really haven't posted much since my hearing on Tuesday. There are a couple of reasons for that. One is that my Internet has been down since late Thursday. The other is that I have been kind of out-of-sorts over the entire episode.
But a phone call from a BYC friend cheered me up quote a bit today.

So here is the short version for those who are interested...the sentence of 30 days "may" be mitigated if I do a 15 day work release and pay $450 for that privilege. The problem is that I may still have to serve the 30 days if the ordinance officer decides that I have ANY violations whether real or perceived based entirely on his say-so. A parking ticket would be a violation or even any contact with a police officer. Or an anonymous phoned in complaint.

The big problem is that what the judge said is not what the probation department says. So there is supposed to be another hearing but no date so far.
All I really know right now is that this judge can make any law he sees fit.

nice pictures of you birdies JackieandChicks Looks like the 2 you got from us at chickenstock in the background of the 1st picture ?

No, that's one of my Brahama Mama's :) and another EE that is similar. I'll get pics today for you of them. The white one is such a sweetie - she is my go-to bird for the kids to pet.

I'm loving my Wellies, they are both very mellow...got them from a local 'breeder', but really have no idea of their true origin, could well be hatchery birds.
He's dominating and she's submitting-sometimes, but her comb is still rather pale at 18 weeks.

Keeping a garden weed-free is easy - just spend an hour, or two, everyday on your hands and knees. Jurassic plants compliments of chickens, goats, rabbits, ducks, and bedding.

Big Mama weighed in at 23 pounds after her nails were trimmed. Laying on the ground she is longer, and has a larger girth, than my Blue Heeler. Crammed in this tote she looks tiny, lol!

Never been to a show of theirs due to the out of control crowds. But have all their Albums and if they come on the radio in truck, I crank up!!!!

I've been to several metalica shows, though it has been a while. They're not that bad... just have to avoid the pits.

Saw Megdeath, Korn, Flotsam & Jetsom & someone else at Pine Knob (yep, it was still called that & I still call it that!) back in the '90s. The people watching was awesome, to say the least. Since the my early 30s, learned I can only handle concerts at outdoor venues. Think the last indoor I actually enjoyed was one of Uncle Ted's New Year's Eve Whip Lash Bashes at Joe Louis Arena...the worst was Disturbed at the Royal Oak Music Theatre...argh, terrible acoustics & the people watching didn't even make up for it!

Welcome

Ditto on what Opa said!

we still refer to it as pine knob... They've done a bunch of changes since I was there in 2010 for Mayhem... more beer booths. They must make a killing on the drinks.. $12 for a dang beer.

I do like going to the Fox in Detroit. Small venue, you can get close to the stage, though we've opted for VIP tables the last few times we've gone.. We saw Megadeth there recently, but the sound was pretty bad but that was a crew issue, singers mike wasn't working.

We try to hit at least two concerts a year.. one of each of our choosing...(unless Korn comes back by then I cheat and go myself!)
