I wish I could use my cast iron pans.

This house came with fuel oil and a glass-top stove. Not compatible with cast iron, especially the kind with the lip on the bottom (which includes all of my set). I'd need either an electric stove or a propane stove (we converted) but I'm not in the position to buy new ovens. But this one is on my wishlist... when I win the lottery that I don't play or inherit my rich parents' estate that doesn't exist.

That is gorgeous. I rid myself of that glass top catastrophe just recently after moving. Back to gas and grates. Never going back.

That cold at night is hurting my roo's recovery. I had to bring him in again for the night last night. He is so well behaved, but can't resist yelling in the morning :( indoors it is barely noticable but in the cold he is open beak breathing and sounds like he's dying. Cold and shivering- can't hold his temp???

I really don't want to take these two to freezer camp. They are turning out to be really good boys; but 3 boys & only 14 girls just isn't working out. Some of the poor girls are really getting beat up; & it's not all from molting

They were hatched by Maia on Mother's Day & are both BCM (mama) x EE....both are really pretty...and free to a good home....

They are good lookin roos. As Loudmouth went to freezer camp this week, I am still debating on getting another. He was such a jerk I don't want to get another like him. I wonder how long I would have to keep him separate from the girls? As winter is coming. hmmm

My oldest son lives in southwest Missouri and for years has worked in the pet food industry. He is extremely knowledgeable about animal nutrition and dog breeding. He often is invited to speak at dog breeding organizations and tomorrow will be speaking at a breeders association meeting in Shipshiwana IN. While flying into Chicago and renting a car to drive to his meeting, he opted to fly into Detroit so that he could spend tonight and tomorrow night with us.

This afternoon as we sat visiting he realized that his I-pad was missing. He remembered having in the Chicago airport. He thought he must have left in on the seat next to him when his flight was called. He was able to find that it was now in Quincey MA right down to the address through a tracking program that's on it. He sent a message to it asking that the person using it please call him. With in minutes of sending the message he received a call from a gentleman who stated that he found it on the seat and figured that it stood a better chance of getting to its rightful owner if he handled it rather than turning it into TSA.

Sure is reassuring to find that there are still people who consider honesty and kindness to strangers a virtue.

Oh wow Opa. I am genuinely surprised and thankful that there are still good people out there. I bet he could tell your son was a good person, that gesture was rather respectful too.

I have been looking at Kune Kune pigs too,.. but they are cost prohibitive. Yes we'll be breeding the little guys. If you do get some KK's let me know!
? Cost prohibitive? You mean in terms of hanging weight? I'm looking for breeds that tend to root less, are hardy, good-natured, and forage for themselves. Although this breed is small (80-100 live pounds at finish) they won't cost an arm & leg to feed, and will stay put. They are a pork pig so the meat will be lean. I'd still like to go for the AGH also as they are a lard pig. Either way it won't be until spring.

Amazing how much human kindness there still is if we look, huh? Yes, I agree with the gentleman that it was much safer with him than the TSA. I'm very happy for your son.
