Is anyone in here NPIP Certified or have info on michigan NPIP laws/Livestock(Poultry) movement. Or know of a place i can get info on getting certified if it is required. I keep seeing posts and ads saying dont buy Illegal eggs buy NPIP Certified but all those ads are in other places not michigan.

From what ive read from different states some NPIP certification is Free, testing is free and other states it is as much as $100/yr for a small flock plus $2 per bird tested with a min of 30 birds needing to be tested and testing done every 3/6 months to once a year plus travel expenses for testers and setup time of 30mins billed at a rate of $85/hr. $380+ seems like a huge expense when your talking about selling birds or eggs for $1-$10 each or $2/dozen. i dont even own 30 birds right now.

Just back from a quick trip into work. We've got a couple of different donation drives going on there this year, and we've got a little competition between different teams here as to who can get the most donations. Since I'm the team captain of Team Jinglebells, I went and drafted my dog Belle to be the team mascot, and I had her with me today to drop off some dog and cat food for the Huron Humane Society, which is just around the corner from our studio. A cute Christmas outfit was gotten and a bath given this morning so she could be all pretty for some pictures for the photo op.
