Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

So far, this Winter has not shown it'self to be worse than last year.... for us anyway... and for that I am glad!

Last night we whipped up a casserole that turned out really good! We had to substitute some of the ingredients but it tasted awesome!!
We used our canned food, which were potatoes and smoked turkey... then added peppers, onion, sour cream, cream of mushroom soup and cheddar cheese (a little smoked gouda and thyme on top) baked for 1/2 hr at 350. yum!
looks good

It has just occurred to me when you talk about duck eggs, I think I have two female call ducks but we have never seen an egg from them. Anyone know how to tell sex on calls? Links? Maybe I need to go read up!

Pretty happy...yesterday realized I was pretty low on ACV & decided to order more from a place I got a good deal last year. Ended up getting (8) 32oz bottles of Bragg ACV with the Mother for $30.02...delivered!
Last year the place had gallons..but only the 32 oz this time. Normally Amazon gets me the best prices...but, this beat their best price by almost 70%!!!

Wow..where did you get that from? I want to get some!

Hi, there. It's been a LONG time since I've been on here, and I've forgotten my way around. I'm trying to find out if anyone in MI has any Cayuga ducks and/or Heritage breeds of turkeys for sale. I culled all of my turkey breeders this year, in order to start over, only keeping 4 young Sweetgrass girls, a Lavender girl, a Narragansett girl and a couple of Standard Bronze girls. I need a tom, at least, for Spring breeding. Got out of the Cayuga scene several years ago, and we miss them. Would rather buy from someone local, if possible, instead of ordering through a hatchery. If I'm posting this in the wrong place, would someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks a bunch. :)
You have Yaks right?? I think a HS friend of mine might have gotten some Yaks off of you a few years back. Caroline Brewer, in Clinton.

Yes, she did. :) I absolutely love Caroline, Larry and their little guy. We have stayed in touch all this time, and have visited one another on occasion. She still has the two yak girls that she bought from us. She has borrowed one of our bulls a couple of times, for breeding, so she has calves from those girls, as well.

Thank you!
