Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I'm wondering what livestock auctions you all know of in Southern Michigan? I know Hillsdale is every Saturday morning.

Years ago there was one in Dundee, but then building burned down and I don't know if they ever started it back up?

Are there any others?

I would definately give them a call first to make sure they have what your looking for, i know not all of those list anything about small animals but some do and 1 or 2 have flea markets etc by/next to them that have small animals.

I am going, too..have no idea if anyone is doing this on this side of the state, but it sounds interesting and you never know if it will turn into a side job :)
I'm sure i will see you there then. Trexroo was talking to a lady about Pekin eggs that is going to i guess.

they take a big drill bit and start digging into the frost.

They check frost through little access ports in the street that lead to water shutoff valves deep underground. Good news is the frost is much less deep where there is uncompacted snow. That is why it is best to run water lines so that they don't run underneath driveways, and that you don't plow the snow over the top of them.

Thanks. Makes sense they would have monitoring access somehow.

It's funny...before last years winter, the preceding 3-4 years the ground hardly froze at all down where I live...had me thinking I should move farther north. Well I'm over that now.

Yeah no dont move more north lol. The frost is no where near as bad as last year here...should be good for spring planting early yay!

HI snowflake. is CS still in June? You never know, I do finally have a car that works again.

We tapped one of the maples in the middle of the deserted duck pen. I figure if I'm not using the pen for birds, may as well put the tree to work!

yes in June same place, all info is in Raz signiture

this is a very interesting class, if you can stay for the whole day both sessions are worth while. Have fun. !!

I have no idea how deep the frost went here last year, I think I was too cold all the time to pay attention. Last winter was the worst I've ever experienced anywhere! I mean, consistent night temps below -20 and days in the low single digits was just not fun. And there was more snow, too. Yeah, let's just pretend last year didn't happen.

Of course, this year my hot tub froze, not last year, go figure!
