Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

In our area last year they were saying the frost was down to 9ft instead of the normal 6ft

i would definately like to forget it.
That explains why I could plant veggies till so late that I got no zucchini or cucumbers. Can you imagine zucchini crop failure? I didn't think it was possible! That made 2 years in a row for failed gardens (previous year we had a 15 minute hail storm).

I may be crazy but I'm going to try again this year.

Weekend, sleep in. Wake up and check the brooder. I yawned, and since it's a sound my ladies aren't familiar with everybody scattered and froze. Spend the next two minutes speaking in soothing tones. Ha!

There were others on the list but their certification lapsed, they may take the class coming up to re-certify or they may not

Some phone numbers may no longer work you know how these things go...some people have emails if the phone number doesnt work you can try that.....the list is only a list of certified people in the county, it does not mean they do NPIP testing for others but most do.

We had the same problem last year off 8 zucchini plants we got about 5 and they were small. The cucumbers i managed to get 6 or 7 off about 20 plants it was bad..the 1.5 acre garden was almost a complete write off.

Does your list include anyone from Delta county?

Grats on your new chicks Birdman! i need to clean the brooder today and figure out where to put those EE chicks you gave me, their big and no longer under a light but very close to the ceiling in the top of the brooder so they stay warmer and last night i moved some of the younger almost fully fledged chicks in with them and we gave away 4 banty frizzle cochin chicks who were smooth.
